Wet the entire surface lightly with water before use. This will prevent stains from sticking. In addition, when carbonated beverages such as beer are added in a dry state, too much foam will form, but this can be suppressed by wetting the surface beforehand.
Care After Use
After use, rinse the entire surface with lukewarm water or room temperature water. When doing so, we recommend that you wash it along the grain of the wood with a Kamenoko Tawashi (a hand brush for wet cleaning, made of a natural fibers). Use a diluted neutral detergent if it is heavily stained or if you put something oily in it. Please try pouring hot water on the surface after use, as this will also help prevent darkening.
Drying and Storage
After washing, wipe off any residual water and let it dry naturally in a well-ventilated place. When doing so, we recommend that you place it face up and place disposable chopsticks between the bottom and the top of the item so that it is slightly elevated. Please note that leaving the product in a raw, dry state can cause darkening.
Humidity Management
Wood is sensitive to changes in humidity, so be careful not to let it dry out too much. Moderate use will prevent over-drying. Please note that placing it in direct sunlight or in high temperatures may cause the wood to become too dry and crack.
Things to Note
Chemicals, strong detergents and bleach may damage the wood. Please refrain from using them.
Items cannot be used in microwaves, ovens, open flames, refrigerators, or automatic dishwashers.
