Sawara Cypress Rice Container (L)

It can be used not only to hold freshly cooked rice, but also for takikomi gohan, chirashi sushi, and as a container for somen noodles. This rice container is just the right size for about 4 cups of rice. The metal hoop is in silver (Nickel Silver). The material used, Sawara Cypress, has a soft aroma and goes well with rice. The aroma of Sawara Cypress is a bit strong when first used, but it will lessen as you use it over time.

* Precautions for Use
If you drain the rice quickly before use, the rice will be less likely to stick to the container. After using the container, wash it with a Kamenoko Tawashi (a hand brush for wet cleaning, made of a natural fibers) to easily remove grains of rice, and the grain of the wood will rise, making it less prone to stains. Alternatively, as with ceramic or glass items, wash it with a soft sponge and rinse it with water (or hot water).
If a stain is visible, wash it with a sponge dipped in neutral detergent.
After washing, dry the container well. Failure to do so may cause darkening.
Do not use in automatic dishwashers, microwaves, and ovens.
